If you are sensing that your child may not be meeting their social-emotional milestones in an age-appropriate fashion, we would be glad to help.
Through early intervention, we may be able to identify and treat issues with poor self-concept, impulse control, friendship skills, study habits, phobias, and low mood. We help children come to terms with changes taking place in their environment that are beyond their control (death, divorce, moving, etc.) so they don’t internalize blame and stress. For older children, we use problem-solving and Cognitive-Behavioral treatment approaches, which sometimes incorporate behavior modification plans. For younger children who may not be able to articulate their feelings with as much sophistication, play therapy can illuminate underlying conflicts and use that safe medium for healing.
We are glad to collaborate with teachers and pediatricians.
