Biography

I received my Masters of Science in Nursing with a specialization in psychiatric-mental health from Vanderbilt University, and am a licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Maryland. I also received my Masters in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Maryland. I have certifications in play therapy and trauma-based CBT and am active in the American Nurse Practitioners Association and the Neuroscience Education Institute. I have experience working with clients across the lifespan in a variety of treatment settings including residential, partial hospitalization and outpatient.

As a nurse practitioner, I take a holistic, client centered and evidence-based approach to care. I am passionate about working with children and adolescents and aim to create a safe place for them during their time in my care. I am always sure to consider the child’s larger environment during treatment, as peers, school, family dynamics and development all play a large role in the child’s current state of their mental health. Coming from both a nursing and therapy background, I have a unique perspective on the importance of collaborative care and will work with your therapist as needed to ensure you are receiving the best care possible.
